Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to the sol cafe family, wherever you are!

The first official sol cafe gathering for the new year took place on Sunday, January 7, at Cafe Dabar. The topic, loosely speaking, was about looking forward, epiphanies, and other such stuff. The Revised Common Lectionary verses were:

Jan. 7 - Epiphany
Isaiah 60:1-6
Psalm 72:1-7, 10-14
Ephesians 3:1-12
Matthew 2:1-12

We had readings, prayer, crafts on a star theme, an opportunity to write ourselves and/or the church letters to be delivered come next advent season, and the very happy announcement that sol cafe regulars Megan and Kyle had gotten engaged over the holiday. Congrats and blessings from everyone!

Wonderful. I'm sorry I couldn't be there with you all this evening, especially since I pre-read the lectionary readings this time.
