a classic sol cafe conversation
On Sunday, May 28, we held a classic sol cafe conversation that travelled far and wide. Among the topics we touched on: What does it mean to be a woman and a mother in the Christian context? Who does God want me to be, whatever my gender (or race or age or anything for that matter)? And how do I find out?
Came here looking for answers? Sorry, we didn't figure it all out, but again in classic sol cafe fashion, we got a little closer to an answer and came up with many more questions as well!
One followup on the conversation can be found here: When WWJD just goes south
Please add a comment or let us know if any other conversations result!

a break for the May Long Weekend... not!
There were no official activities scheduled for Sunday May 21, but a whole bunch of people showed up anyway, including some first-timers, and put together about a hundred binders for the "Kids with Cancer" Group at the Stollery Childrens' Hospital. I guess God just knew we were due for a service service. Where two or three to gather in his name! Shirley sends her thanks for everyone's help!

Thai Trivia!
On Sunday May 14, sol cafe regular Bethany did a wonderful presentation on her recent internship in Thailand. There was coconut and mango ice-cream to be had, as well as Thai surprizes for the winners of the Thai trivia. All and all a great night!
If you want to learn more about Bethany's trip, check out her blog here!

our food for thought section has been bloggified!
Check out our revamped food for thought section! Where our manifesto is meant to be more introspective, an exploration of ourselves as a church and a community, our food for thought section is meant to look outward at the world around us as reflected on the web and in the blogosphere. We welcome your feedback and suggestions!
